Trickz Foundation, Municipality of Hellevoetsluis

deliverables

Context research, Creative facilitation, CAD model

in short
This project was initiated by one of the sporters in our community. He has been Freerunning for quite some time, but never had any specific facilities for it in his city. As he has progressed through the years he wants to contribute to his home city. So we were approached with the idea to create a concept that we could present to the municipality of Hellevoetsluis.
research

Analyzing the context

Before we start designing public places we always want to get to know the place/context we’re dealing with. We want to understand the different dynamics of the environment. Who is living there, what is the history of the place? These are one of the many questions we try to answer. To do so we went to the location to explore and did digital research about the history. There always one or more ideas that emerge during this investigation. For this project we thought that it was important that the design should communicate with the cultural and historical level of Hellevoetsluis.
ideation

Co-Creative Session

From our previous projects we have learned to methodically approach the ideation phase in a Co-creative way. So for this project we invited the initiator for a creative session. In this session we use different methods, like ‘Lego Iterations’ in which we swapped our designs around under time pressure to get inspired by each other.
presentation

Concept Proposal

Depending on each project we choose a style of presentation. In this case we created a 3D model as final concept. Working in 3D gives us not only the advantage to quickly make iterations but also to deliver a model that can be translated into construction drawings. Since this project was about approaching the municipality by presenting a concept we decided to make a sketchy looking render.
